Editorial Policy
Our Approach
ReputationsDefender publishes original, practically focused content on online privacy, personal information removal, and reputation management. We write for people actually trying to solve a problem — a data broker listing, a negative search result, a damaging review — not to rank for keywords for their own sake.
What We Do
- Research platform policies (Google's removal policies, state privacy laws, review-platform guidelines) directly from primary sources before writing about them.
- Write in plain, specific language, with step-by-step instructions where applicable.
- Distinguish clearly between free, legitimate self-help steps and situations where professional or legal help is genuinely warranted.
- Review and update articles periodically, reflected in the "last updated" date shown on each piece.
What We Don't Do
- We don't fabricate statistics, studies, testimonials, or expert quotes.
- We don't promise guaranteed Google rankings or guaranteed content removal.
- We don't present legal advice as a substitute for consulting a licensed attorney about your specific situation.
- We don't accept payment in exchange for favorable editorial coverage.
